The Wine Estate

Tenuta Larnianone is located in the hills close to Siena, where our family has been producing wine and olive oil since 1939.

The property, which contains 19 hectares of vineyards and 12 hectares of olive groves, enjoys a breathtaking view of the Chianti hills and of the renowned medieval city which is only 5 km away.

We grow native local grape varieties as Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo but we have also introduced some international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to add another dimension to our production, benefiting from the properties of our extraordinarily rich soil.

We pride ourselves in performing the most significant parts of the production process by hand, including pruning, tying-up, leaf-pulling and cluster-thin-fining. Harvesting too is done manually, carefully choosing the right time for picking in every single lot, to ensure the perfect ripeness of our grapes.

A Family Wine Estate

Tenuta Larnianone lies on a fertile land surrounded by woods and encompassed by two rivers, Bozzone and Arbia.

During the 1930’s the land was passed to the Masignani family, a well-known pasta producer from Siena, who decided to start a private production of wines.

Later, Maria Masignani married Ezio Morfini, a skillful and visionary engineer from Milan who, impressed by the beauty and the peace of the location, began the conservative restoration of the old farmhouses in the ‘60s.

Later, following the great passion for wine, they decide to invest time and resources, using innovative techniques to create a wine with a superior quality that could celebrate the excellence of their land and could be handed down to their future generation.

Nowadays the property is still owned by the Morfini family: Tullio, Duccio, Anna that manage with their sons.
